As a UX Design Intern, I helped improve Ford’s campus technology experience through UI enhancements and employee research. Here is how I identified Wi‑Fi and network pain points, mapped the employee journey, and delivered design solutions that supported and exceeded the team’s goals.
Deliverables
Ford Window Setup Design
Overview
Using Figma and the Ford Design System, I improved visual consistency and simplified device onboarding for enterprise employees, delivering production-ready specs and component handoffs to engineering.
Ford Connectivity Experience Journey Mapping
Overview
Problem
Ford employees were experiencing Wi‑Fi and network issues that disrupted productivity, collaboration, and access to essential tools.
Because the connections between individual reports were unclear, I investigated the full employee connectivity journey to find root causes and identify improvements.
Solution
To better understand the employee connectivity experience, I combined interviews, survey responses, existing feedback data, and on-site shadowing across Ford campuses.
I then synthesized the research through affinity mapping, interview matrices, pain-point analysis, and root-cause frameworks to uncover recurring themes and turn them into actionable journey-map scenarios.
Internship Highlights
Beyond the projects I supported throughout the summer, this internship gave me the opportunity to experience Ford as a company firsthand. Through archive tours, museum visits, technology demonstrations, volunteer events, and intern networking opportunities, I gained a deeper understanding of Ford's history, culture, and ongoing transformation.
These experiences allowed me to connect with employees and interns across the organization, learn how different teams contribute to Ford's success, and gain a broader perspective on the people, processes, and innovation that drive the company forward.
